greetings
Just want to intro myself to this neighborhood. My hope is to discover what's going on among Blacks of the digital persuasion. I crossed the digital divide back in the Dos days, today I am a full-time Linux user. I do Ubuntu 8.04 and have a MS machine on the side for engineering Cad stuff. Been dabbling in graphics from time to time and have an arsenal of GIMP, Xara Xtreme, Krita and Open Office.org Draw. I am kind of simple and old school as far as design goes but the object of life is to live and learn. The perception in the world is that the Harlem Renaissance is/was the peak of Black artistic achievement that we can see. I hope you all can prove this wrong.

How are we infiltrating or integrating into the fabric of the art world? I have two cousins who worked for American Greetings and a sister who did commercial advertising. I really don't care for the commercial world, but what I want to know is, are we being influential in ways that can be realized by others?
