Telemarketers

Has anyone else been receiving unwanted calls on their cell phones? For the past few days, I have been getting calls from the 206 area code. I believe it's from Oregon. Most of the time they do not get an answer from me because I'm at work and I don't have my phone with me. I got one today while I was out walking. I did not answer it because I don't want to waste my minutes. I have reported the callers phone numbers to the FTC's website for the Do not call registry.

I registered my home phone and cell phone numbers there last year. While I don't get many calls on my home phone, they seem to be switching tactics now. Anybody else received any calls from these numbers?

I have gotten marketing calls, but they were local, or at least my same area code. I answer because I use my cell phone for real estate sales, so I never know if a prospect might call. Next time I'll report the telemarketers.

Every since the "no call" list was made available I have not been getting tele-market calls at home. My cell phone is not on enough for anyone to call me.

Any time you want to find out where a call comes from by area code, go to this web site: http://www.bennetyee.org/ucsd-pages/area.html

It will show all arae codes by state.

Thanks for the link Tinkertoy. I see now that the calls to my phone came from Washington State.

Charliekilothree, I added my 2 landline numbers when that DNC registry first became available. My cell phone number was never registered and so far, no problems with calls to my cell phone. I hardly ever turn my cell phone off. Sometimes it's on vibrate.

I no longer have a fax line because I gave it up in favor of DSL. Every once in awhile, calls will come in from a telemarketer to my existing landline. I just threaten to report them. They don't call me a second time.

I would report them anyway. I absolutely despise the people who call me for telemarketing purposes.

Technically, I am a telemarketer also. I have a home based business as an independent art dealer. I buy leads off internet sources and contact those leads, so my calls are not exactly cold calls as these leads are people that request information on starting home based businesses.

I try to call at times that people are inconvenienced the least, but I know some people will still take offense to me calling even though they requested information.

Telemarketing to contact qualified leads is very efficient and has made me some money. I don't enjoy it, but I am more comfortable the more I do it.

So please don't hate me. If you request information, I will give it to you....

LOL
I don't hate cha DBlack. If someone called me about something I had requested, that would not be a problem. It's the people that call me for things that I have zero interest in like a loan or some product that I can buy on my own if I wanted or needed it. Also those computer generated calls that say stuff like "please stay on the line for important details."
