saraphen once I sent a pymt one penny short of amount due that cost me a total of over $80. in late fees.

This is a very timely post; in fact maybe it'll be "bumped up" every other week or so... 'cause paying on time or late, the compounded interests clocks never rest.

That's the true crime, all unearned "income" in my opinion.

Help me out someone up on what's written in the Old Testament, isn't there something there forbidding usury on those "outside the gates?"

But in this God fearing nation, what else is to be expected. There r however ways to operate money lending institutions w/o parasitical compounded interests.

When my credit card company (Citibank) hit me with a late fee once, I asked them to remove the fee and they did. I wish a credit card company would try to charge me an inactivity fee. Yeah it is very useful info.

Somebody said the devil is in the mice type.... well to me the "devil" is compounded interests whose sum is never constant; even after being billed its calculated... seconds in degrees of seconds constantly grows to our detriments.

And yet is there any other way in America? I've known one Black man who purchased land, had two houses built on it; a pond for farming fish and a few other amenities and paid cash. He looked at me like I was a child when asked: how much u owe?

That's extremely unusual; big ticket items, methinks, forces most folk to use credit of some sort. Mind u this man had a 5th or 6th grade education. 'Sho would like to meet a few school teachers like that today! Onareal...
