No, I would not. I don't think it would do much for rhat purpose. If it was $100k that would be a diferrent story.

Ten thousand dollars would probably be put to better use in a city like Chicago. There are all types of loans/grants/assistance for people that are buying their first home or people that rehab existing properties etc.

I appreciate the time that you took to respond. You're great and your response is also great. What type of investments are we talking? Wish I had started when I was 18. Better late than never. Have you given any thought to teaching others how to budget, save and or invest?
I'm going to send you a private message before this day is over.

You're welcome. ;) I found it to be an intersting topic, so I responded. :)
Well, my investments are mainly stocks. I have an extensive coin collection. I'm also an art collector (paintings to be exact). My family owns different types of paintings that are worth anywhere from 1,000 Euros to a quater of a million. I do currency trading as well. Would I teach others? Sure would. Especially since I'm getting an MBA.

I didnt see this post. Sorry CB.
I will have to go with the rest of the concensus and say invest in real estate. I heard Steve Harvey say on the radio today that an old Jewish guy told him to buy all the land you can because they are not going to make any more dirt.
I do have a property from a tax lein sale that I have been eyeing. Has anyone bought from a tax sale before?

If land is what you want to buy and you want to do it in Florida, just PM me and I'll tell you about all the good sites! Homes in Florida have increased in value more then 50%. Especially, if you live in Palm Beach.

TRL, it's all good. I happen to know someone who has this amount and was wondering how others would invest it, I'm just happy that people are finally starting to respond. Thanks!

MRA75, I can draw stick people and that's just about it. I do have shares of stock in several companies. Right now, my stock portfolio isn't worth much. It's good to know that you are willing to teach others.

My bank has a lot of interest. It's compounded daily.
