It has been brought to my attention that on or about March 27th, 2006 cell phone carriers such as Nextel, Sprint, T-Mobile are releasing the numbers to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls and will be charged for these calls.
Verizonwireless is the only carrier that did not participate in this.

Please call the following number if you are a user of Nextel,Sprint and T-Mobile. (Verizonwireless could also call this number) to prevent these calls to your phone; 888-382-1222, this is the national DO NOT CALL list.

It only takes a few minutes and it will block your number for 5 years. You can also go to this website;

I registered my cell number when I did my house phone. I have Cingular cell service. If them suckers call my number I will report the number to the Donotcall website.

i wonder why verizon didnt join in on the fun, i guess they knew if word gets out about this on the TV media, and people really start to complain about Telemarkerters, then people will start to change their service to Verizon. So i think Verizon, in the long run, will benefit from this rather than the other cell companies.

Yes, this one has been going around for a few years. You can still get telemarketing calls on your cell, especially if you give out your business card with your cell phone number on it. Or drop your card in one of those fishbowl drawings for a "free lunch."
