Daylight-saving switch may cause tech woes

If your PC is not very old, it knows when to make the daylight-saving time switch. At least it knows until they lengthen daylight savings time under the new Energy Law. That goes the same for your new VCR and DVD recorder. Maybe even your mobile-phone too. And my FAX machine?? It get's off everytime we have a power failure anyway.

You just might have to manually make the switch when it happens early, and undo the automatic switch for the old date. Shades of Y2K!!

Ain't no thang but a Chicken wang. I rarely pay much attention to my PC clock anyway. The same goes for the VCR and cell phone. I still wish they would leave the time alone though.

If you never schedule things on your PC or VCR, it wouldn't matter. Cell phone rates can vary according to the time of day.

I have a clock in my house that gets it's time from an Atomic Clock someplace in Boulder CO. When daylight savings time starts/ends, it resets by itself. It's real cool if I happen to be in the room when the hands start moving by themselves. I don't know if the clock knows the time change or if Boulder CO does the change. Anyway, that clock may end up being off for half the year.

The only time I even care what time it is, is when I have to go somewhere.

I schedule a virusscan daily but it would just be off by an hour and not pose a problem. I think atomic clocks are cool but cost more than I'm willing to spend on them. I just rely on my trusty wristwatches to keep me on time.
