A Conflict of Interest

Microsoft has been in talks with Claria to attempt to purchase the company. Claria is that group of wonderful folks who have been spending years providing people with top quality products for behavioral marketing. Luckily most of their products can be detected by Spybot and Adaware and removed easily with little fuss.

Microsoft has "coincidentally" decided to downgrade the threat level of what these spyware/adware pieces are to the user in their own Anti-Spyware tool.

I don't rely on Microsofts Antispyware. I use another program that blocks things such as popups. scripts, bugs, ads, worms, spyware, cookies, web sites, scanners and style sheets.

Great post Gorilla,

Microsoft, once again proves why they can't be trusted. They also prove that when it comes to security, they are in the last position in the race.

that's lowdown and deceitful. I won't even consider their tool till it gets out of beta.
