I.E. script error

This isin't anything major but it's annoying as hell n' if I can get some help then I figured why not so here we go. The problem is simple, when I come here I get an i.e. script error. The msg.; Error: Object doesn't support this property or method. That script error pops up everytime I first come to afrochat.net and then keeps showing up whenever I click a link or an redirected to another page after the page finishes loading. I did a lil googlin' myself not too long ago n' found out it's either spyware or it's a problem with the web page (which I wont be able to resolve). Now it's doing it with another website I frequent...any suggestions?

could be a HTML source code problem, which you said is out of your hands but, the same thing is happening on another page also which tells me that it could be your active x settings

Are you using IE or FireFox?

When you look down at the bottom of your browswer window at the status bar, do you see a caution sign/icon? click on that, go into the details, and you will see additional information about the error; usually a file or line of code is referenced there.

Active x is a piece of software that was developed by mr gates (Microsoft). it makes it possible for you computer to receive programmed material or other content via the internet. IE (ver 3 and above only) and netscape web browsers use it. the reason I suggested it could be the problem is that software components use it to interact with each other in a networked environment; and since you are having this problem on other sites it could be that you need to download it and re-install them.

Thnx for the link. I wasn't understandin' it too much, most of the stuff there applies to developers. My girl found me the following link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308260 which applies to my situation. I followed the troubleshooting procedures (most of 'em) n' ended up installing DirectX and I'm still gettin' the damn errors. They mention the possible need to re-install Windows. So for now I shall say "Fk it." n' keep an eye on the torrent sites for a Vista with a confirmed activation key.
