Who is Your favoite Novelist? And Book Listing

Who is your favorite novelist? I can't pick one myself since the most I've ever read of any one writer is four novels, and there are only two writers of whose body of work I've read four (i.e. W. E. B DuBoies, Jacob U. Grodon).

By the way, we need to start advertising for this great board. Tell your friends, go to other message boards and advertise, etc. I've done some advertising myself.

I like Alice Walker, Terry McMillan, Mary Monroe, and Gail Perry-Mason. Those are just a few because there's so many great writers.

African American Male Interests

AFRICAN AMERICAN MALE INTERESTS

C&B BOOKS, was started in 1995, by Carol Rogers & Brenda Piper. The motivation behind this book business, was the lack of affordable books written by black authors. We decided to become an asset to our Youth and the African American community in a whole. We offer our books for less then the major stores, we knew this would provide our readers with a wider variety of reading material. We have, titles for all ages in all catagories, fiction, non-fiction, spiritual, inspirational, educational etc. :terrific: C&B BOOKS

Black Novelist as White Racist: The Myth of Black Inferiority in the Novels of Oscar

Book Description
In exceptionally close analyses of six novels by black writer Oscar Micheaux, Young traces the development of Micheaux's racial theories and of his stance as apologist for American imperialism. Young argues that these novels are examples of the detrimental effect of oppressive myths on early 20th-century black behavior and values. The characters in the novels tend to mirror the black stereotypes of the post-bellum confederate romanticists, both the "Cavalier racists" and the "Negrophobes." Adopting the world view of the oppressor required that Micheaux reject both his own blackness and that of his racial kinsmen.

Black Gold Red Death

Black Gold, Red Death
by David Lindsey
Published by Fawcett Books
Paperback, 248pages
ISBN: 0-449-13121

Because this book was a paperback original...and because I was a first-time novelist...and because it came out simultaneously with A Cold Mind, a book that kicked up a considerable amount of dust at the time...Black Gold/Red Death was never reviewed. It became one of the myriads of books that are annually lost in the vast continent of book publishing.

But it didn't disappear. It's still in print. Still selling
