METRO...represent! Columbia, SC. The South is a very mixed bag. I was at USC when we were protesting the Confederate Flag at the state house. So, yeah racial tension is most definitely there. But it is also a place of kindness, high spirituality and intelligence. The only thing I dislike is that the state is soo conservative and Bush oriented, that many overlook changes that could make SC better. For instance, a lot of the state powers are unwilling to pay for a lot of concerts for major hip-hop artists to come to Columbia. In doing so, they pass up on tons of revenue that could go towards state funds.
Ah well, there will always be conflict anywhere, but that doesn't detract from the beauty and strength of the South.
