What Willie Lynch had to Say
Hotep
The only way our collective mental anguish concerning our deplorable condition in this country (U.S.A.) and else ware can be solved is,...for us to understand that we need each other to get this "Beast" people off of our "Backs". The so-called white man and his woman are still prospering to the likes of over $20 billion dollars in hair care products and other cosmetics alone, in sales to Black people. Nike, Timberland, Cadillac, BMW and so on has reported record numbers in sales to Afrikans in America. Why don't we wake up and start to produce for our selves like the rest of the world is doing? Why can't we see and understand that we spend more than it takes to buy our collective Freedom if rescorces were directed in the Right direction. Don't we want to see our people injoy Freedom? Why is it soo hard for us to understand that no one on this Earth will think about Respecting the Afrikan American seriously until we Free our Selves from volunteer Slavery, by refusing to "Go for our Selves", establising our Self-Determination, and start to produce every thing we need. Afrikan proverb: "Death is better than Oppression". No matter how high we can jump, dance, sing, play music, rap ect., We are only selling ourselves short, at the price of our Freedom. We will risk every thing to do the Wrong thing, but won't risk enough to do the Right thing, Why??? Are we Afraid to Act? Is there any wonder we are experiencing difficulty with the black Woman, She knows (We) you are suppose to Do Something!!

The "authenticity" of this letter, supposedly dated in 1712 is currently being debated.
(I will do a search as I did keep a clipping surrounding the letter.)
"As human beings, our limitations rest only in our ignorance. We are ignorant of who we are and what we can do. We have the need to gain consciousness (awareness) and only in consciousness is our true human capacity open to us." (Dr. Na`im Akbar from his book, Breaking the Chains of Psychological Slavery.)
"If I should die on my way to freedom,
At least I was on my way.
At least I was on the road, pushing
against the winds of change, and
pushing against the grain, making my
way toward freedom..."

Every thing concerning Blacks is "Debated"*

Perhaps there is some debate about the authenticity of this statement also, who knows. One thing is for sure, Black Men and Black Women were "Lynched" and it is curious ware this name came from.
Every thing concerning Afrikans is allways up to Whites "Authenticity". Today in 2005 they have just made King Tutankamen whiter than their Michael Angelo painting of Jesus.

Additional Note: “Henty Berry, speaking in the Virginia House of Delegates in 1832, described the situation as it existed in many parts of the South at this time: “We have, as far as possible, closed every avenue by which light may enter their (the slaves) minds. If we could extinguish the capacity to see the light, our work would be complete; they would then be on a level with the beasts of the field and we should be safe. I am not certain that we would not do it, if we could find out the process and that on the plea of necessity.” From Brown America, The story of a New Race by Edwin R. Embree. 1931 The Viking Press.

@Moorfius. Word to the wise, brother. The authenticity of the letter is being debated by noted black scholars, Cornell West being one of them. And yes, there is no doubt as to the heinous epoch that our people were lynched in--agreed. Be well.

On top of my list is "Age", but it is there only because it starts with an "A": the second is "Color" or shade, there is intelligence, size, sex, size of plantations, status on plantation, attitude of owners, whether the slave live in the valley, on hill, East, West, North, South, have fine hair, coarse hair, or is tall or short. The Black slave after receiving this indoctrination shall carry on and will become self re-fueling and self generating for hundreds of years, maybe thousands. Don't forget you must pitch the old Black male vs. the young Black male, and the young Black male against the old Black male. You must use the dark skin slaves vs. the light skin slaves and the light skin slaves vs. the dark skin slaves. You must use the female vs. the male, and the male vs. the female. You must also have your white servants and overseers distrust all Blacks, but it is necessary that your slaves trust and depend on us. They must love, respect and trust only us. Gentlemen, these kits are your keys to control. Use them. Have your wives and children use them, never miss an opportunity. If used intensely for one year, the slaves themselves will remain perpetually distrustful. Thank you, gentlemen.

I finally read this thread. Some times you don't want to read certain things or respond to them because of the feedback you get but today I had to. With the passing of Rosa Parks and the comments made at her home going service by certain black leaders.
Who ever wrote this letter and when it was written will always be up for debate. Thing that alot of folks won't accept is the fact that right now in2005 these very painful things are still happening. We can look at the relationship between black men and women. Light skin and dark skin folks still have a problem with each other.
The talented 10% never really helped bring others up with them. Look how how it took us to stand up and say more. Emmit Till had to died and his mother had to show the world the hate that still exited. Rosa Parks wanted respect as a human being.
The civil right movement brought us so far. But now we are losing some of the gains we made. We are so wraped up in acting/being like the Hiltons that we don't see how we are still hurting each other. We still have the crab in the barrell mentality. Even our leaders show this.
The church is now money hungry when there was a time that they were about the business of helping folks to do better and be better. Now it the pie is here if you give $100 or more. The black women and men we put into office sell us out to.They sell us out for the highest donation.
Other profit from us not being a people united. We don't want to talk about the things that effect us. The 400 years of slavery plus what happen to us after slavery is very much apart of us today. Our minds are still enslaved.
Intergration has changed nothing for us.Provety is still here and unequal education is still in the schools.
Until we confront the issues in the letter we will never truly be free.
I know there are some who will not agree and others will. I just had to say what was on my mind. After living on this earth for 52 years I have seen alot of things good and bad. So before I pass away I would just like to see us stand up an say no more!

I'm curious about this issue of justice from whites. At one point and time we as blacks sought GOD for relief from such a people, and I truly believe it was through his Holyspirit and word, that we recieved clarity on many issues regarding slavery.
We actually saw ourselves resembling a modern day example of Israel through those sufferings. Our experiences mirror and are very similar to ancient Egypt's abuse towards the Jews. And it is because of them resembling thorns that we remain oppressed, this is partly due to being dysfunctional and in need of GOD'S correction.
As they witness this degrading plight amongst amongst us as a whole, their treachery grows. For them it's obvious that we have for many years been made to made to fulfill what's written in GOD'S word as being a chosen children.
Psalm 33
10 The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. 11 But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. 12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance. 13 From heaven the LORD looks down and sees all mankind;
14 from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth- 15 he who forms the hearts of all, who considers everything they do. 16 No king is saved by the size of his army; no warrior escapes by his great strength. 17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance; despite all its great strength it cannot save.
18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, 20 We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield."
Psalms73
1 Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. 2 But as for me, my feet had almost slipped; I had nearly lost my foothold. 3 For I envied the arrogant when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. 4 They have no struggles; their bodies are healthy and strong. 5 They are free from the burdens common to man; they are not plagued by human ills.
6 Therefore pride is their necklace; they clothe themselves with violence.
7 From their callous hearts comes iniquity; the evil conceits of their minds know no limits. 8. They scoff, and speak with malice; in their arrogance they threaten oppression.
Psalms69
25 May their place be deserted; let there be no one to dwell in their tents.
26 For they persecute those you wound and talk about the pain of those you hurt. 27 Charge them with crime upon crime; do not let them share in your salvation. 28 May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous. 32 The poor will see and be glad you who seek God, may your hearts live! 33 The LORD hears the needy and does not despise his captive people.
Some how or another we have been deluded to believe that that parallel mystery of GOD was only a fluke, and is out of touch with reality.
I certainly believe that someone or something has detoured us from seeking GOD in the manner of truth trust and paitence. It's by the same people who have murdered us physically, are we taught to survive. We've gone from trusting GOD to seeking our own intellect and strength as GOD.
It's as if they are saying GOD has failed us and doesn't hear our cry.
How foolish can we be, to believe that the success of our oppressors can surpass the power of GOD.
If you would please note the foregoing; and remember that his word must be fulfilled in the way he has purposed it. Will the children of our oppressors go free? is the question...
Proverbs 17
15 Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent— the LORD detests them both.
Job 27:13,14
13 "Here is the fate God allots to the wicked, the heritage a ruthless man receives from the Almighty: 14 However many his children, their fate is the sword; his offspring will never have enough to eat.
Psalm 83 NIV
1. O God, do not keep silent; be not quiet, O God, be not still. 2. See how your enemies are astir, how your foes rear their heads. 3. With cunning they conspire against your people; they plot against those you cherish. 4. "Come," they say, "let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more."
5. With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you- 12. who said, "Let us take possession of the pasturelands of God." 13. Make them like tumbleweed, O my God, like chaff before the wind. 14. As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze, 15. so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm. 16. Cover their faces with shame so that men will seek your name, O LORD.
Psalm 94
1 O LORD, the God who avenges, O God who avenges, shine forth. 2 Rise up, O Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve. 3 How long will the wicked, O LORD, how long will the wicked be jubilant? 4 They pour out arrogant words; all the evildoers are full of boasting.
5 They crush your people, O LORD; they oppress your inheritance. 6 They slay the widow and the alien; they murder the fatherless. 7 They say, "The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob pays no heed." 8 Take heed, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise?
9 Does he who implanted the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see? 10 Does he who disciplines nations not punish? Does he who teaches man lack knowledge? 11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man; he knows that they are futile.
14 For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance. 15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers? 20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you one that brings on misery by its decrees?
21 They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. 22 But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. 23 He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the LORD our God will destroy them
Psalm 37 NIV
9 For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. 10 A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. 11 But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace. 12 The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash their teeth at them;
13 but the Lord laughs at the wicked, for he knows their day is coming. 14 The wicked draw the sword and bend the bow to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those whose ways are upright. 15 But their swords will pierce their own hearts, and their bows will be broken. 16 Better the little that the righteous have than the wealth of many wicked;
