The African Roots of Stepping

by Dr. Hayward Farrar, History Dept, Virginia Tech

Yeah good info that needs circulation among our Greek Frats and sororities. Who might then rid themselves of all the feakiness that has been tacked onto an Afrikan tradition.

apparently you haven't read many of my posts...
i was being sarcastic, that's what rolleyes means.
too many of we african americans, and continentals claim that we are NOT africans. although i can tolerate (i hate that word) for reasons i'm not gonna go into right now, the americans saying that about themselves, i wouldn't accept that from anyone else, to put it politely.
i say this not out of some romantisized view/belief about africa but through my own research over the years. not to be long winded, but AA culture is too african influenced to deny that we are what we are (at least i am), AFRICANS.
