Not to convince, but for simple legitimacy. The evidence is there already without the use of the letter, it is evident in the people itself, but for other reasons...

There were 3 movies which I sat through which mentioned the letter as one of the driving points
-Animal with Ving Rhames [horrible movie]
-Hurricane
-The Great Debaters

All three mentions the letter, twice for Denzel, but there are no sources to this man. I like to search everything to its source with a legitimate claim so there won't be a question in my mind to it at all. Force of habit of mind to argue on fact and not on conjecture

Oh by the way, many a black republican as well as the 'bi-racial' offspring groups who don't want to how did they put it, 'be referred to as black.......
That's interesting. I've never heard a black Republican say they did not want to be referred to as “black”. I'm not defending them by any means but I've never heard any of them say this before. Do you have any names? Details please..... And as far as so-called bi-racial people are concerned, I think you are making an unfair and very misleading generalization. I grew up with a number of bi-racial people and I currently know a fair number now. I have never heard any of them refer to themselves as anything other than black. Yes, I've heard about those during the last national census, who desired a multiracial (sic) categorization. But I think they are a minority and in no way represent the majority of bi-racial (one black parent) people. You seem to be making, once again, some very misleading generalizations that cannot be substantiated.

........' have arisen to challenge the authenicity of this letter.
The only thing authentic about this sophomoric drivel is that it is an authentic fraud. It's been thoroughly deconstructed and dismissed along with other internet urban myths like the "Oprah-Hilfiger" and "Bill Gates wants to give you his money" hoaxes. I knew this silly scripted intellectually insulting nonsense was bogus before I finished the first paragraph. It amazes me whenever I hear someone refer to it as anything remotely real.

They bypass the contents which we all with good sense know did happen to question the style of the letter. Now, there's your true uncle tom, self-loathing, knee-gros if ever there were.
Being an Uncle Tom or self-loathing knee-gro has absolutely nothing to do with having enough brain cells to make the distinction between a tired fraudulent so-called letter and something that may possibly be true.

I don't need this letter to convince me that the physical enslavement of and long term psychological damage to African people in Amerikkka was a premeditated diabolical plot of the white man.
Thank you. My sentiments exactly. There is no need for anyone to generate this self perpetuating BS in order to shed light on the history of racism and oppression of black Americans. Like you, I don’t need to read a fictitious written for 7th graders hoax to inform me of the history of black oppression. E’nuff said…..
