The Black Farmer
New Photo Exhibit Exposes the Plight and Disappearance of Black Farmers in America
By Chris Simkins
Baltimore, Maryland
21 February 2006
February is African-American History Month in the United States. It's a time people recall and celebrate the positive accomplishments and contributions made by people of African descent. But one centerpiece of the African-American experience is slowly fading away and soon may only be found in history books. VOA's Chris Simkins reports on a new photo exhibit which illustrates the plight of black farmers in America.

I'm glad that an photo exhibit was done focusing on the plight of Black American Farmers. Perhaps, it will educate our people more on how the powers that be are trying to eradicate the Black Farmers by not allowing them access to the same loans as White Farmers.

You got that right Sistergirl. The powers that be has been know to give apologies along with cash in some cases ( Jews, and Chineese). However, I doubt that we'll ever get our reperparations and our 40 acres and a mule.

in addition to another fact: it is source of wealth passed down to a family. I was just informed the other day that in South Carolina a person who passes on and whose estate is classified as "Testate" when there's real estate left it is automatically ruled "Heir's land." And just think a brutha, born in Mississippi, was found hanging by the neck from his family's land. He'd left, I think Oregon or Washington State, to live on and help his family maintain and keep their land. His krakkka neighbor'd long desired their land. They refused to sell to him or anybody. I think the land has been their's since early 1900's!
Re Reparations Ankhesenamun, the forms of Reparations will depend on who finally wins in Int'l Courts. As long as suits are filed in U.S. Civil courts, forget it. All u will see then is individuals, or maybe one family, or one small group and the representing attorneys benefitting.
A group I was working with pushed for a nationwide Plebiscite Black voters format. That will establish a nat'l body, that qualifies us a voice at the United Nations. I say was working with bcause the last word I got asked me to hold fast while some internal logistics are b n solved. If interested goto: http://www.aareparations.com

Brief update on the 1999 promised payments to Black Farmers: they're still battling; its said the amounts individually was insufficient; wasn't enough to finance modern farming.
Re the 40 acres and a mule, our present reparations battles involve much more than that.... in U.N. Human Rights Commission rulings. Few of us expect yt to give in, without major pushings by us.
Yt fought with the native NDNs, Japanese and somewhat with Germans. That's expected
Powers gives up nothing without a fight!
