What happened to my posts?

Usually once or twice a month, I run a job that cleans up the reputation indexes and post counts.

For those who pay close attention to your reputation and post counts, you may notice a change in your values. This is because the cleanup job verifies every post of every thread to see if it is infact valid, and updates the indexes for each user. It's an important job to run as it keeps the database lean and free of orphaned data.

Say a post you made was removed. The system doesn't always immediately update your post count immediately. Now multiply this act by several hundred accounts; this would overwhelm the application server and crash the board. My cleanup job takes care of those 'incremental updates'.

DBlack, does this also mean that the Rep given to a Resident this weekend was also affected ? And when you say if a post was removed etc., are you referring to a post or thread that an AfroMod may have deleted or are you referring to a post or thread that they system clean up removed?


I gave Rep to Residents over the weekend and would have waited until later in the week to do so.

i have never noticed any posts that may be missing

I gave Rep to Residents over the weekend and would have waited until later in the week to do so.

DBlack, does this mean that Reputation Points that I gave to AC Residents the weekend that you ran that program were deleted or never even applied? If the Reputation Points were not applied, I should be allowed to give those same Residents Reputation Points again ASAP.

@saraphen ok I read it again, i.e. the rules to be enforced. With me its simply a difference of opinion re what constitutes something private only for sistahs or only for bruthas. No problema; since I've been alerted to having violated rule for bruthas not to reply, don't think I've done it. Must say tho, sometimes sistahs b saying some deep stuff that needs rebuttal by a man!

Just as if we do some wild "talk'n" 'bout sistahs that'd demand sistah's rebuttal.... u kno?

Anyway I hardly read either anymore...
