I have to thank DBlack and the whole Afrochat.net family for something you didn't know you gave me. Coming to this site not only gave me an extra outlet to express my views, but also gave me the love of my life.

In the past I made fun of people that found love online but I did, and for a time it was good. You were here to listen when we split for a while and all of you didn't know that she was who I was talking about. But this email I received from her sister yesterday will explain all that happened. And why I want to take a break from posting anything for awhile. I will be back to read comments and relay them to others especially her family, but once again I am burdened with passing along sad news......

Now that I've found your email address among Celeste's papers, I hope this reaches you. This is one of the hardest things I've ever had to write. I feel as if I know you and as if my whole family knows you, though we've never met.
I'm Celeste's older sister Jasmine (Jazz).
Before I say anything else, I want you to know that you were her world. You were more important to her than law school, than art or politics or poetry, than anything.

You probably know that she had one ex who broke her heart, and another ex who threatened her and our family and recently committed suicide (this is why she needed time away). But she had also you, and she loved you best of all. She spoke of you constantly, and we all wanted to meet you and welcome you into our family.

Celeste was planning to return to us and to you this month.
She told me she was afraid she had made you feel abandoned, and she told me she hoped you could find a way to forgive her and share your life with her again. She told us she was feeling stronger and that she was ready to come back to school, to us and to you. To come back home.
So there's no easy way for me to tell you this, but you need to know what has happened.

Celeste was killed in an accident on her way back to the United States.
We are in the deepest shock and grief of our lives. She had so much to live for and had just begun to heal. She was so happy to be alive and in love with you.

We've had a private family service for her and we've made arrangements to have her ashes scattered in a ceremony in Africa. This is my father's wish and we know her spirit will be at peace there. She had many friends, online and off, and we are doing our best to contact them to let them know she is gone.
The family and I all want you to know how much we value everything you brought to Celeste's life. She was our sweet, genius sister. Our Duchess. Our shining star. You brought her total happiness, and for that we will be eternally grateful.

OMG NO,

I am in shock.
The first thing that came to my mind was Celeste and Baba meeting and laughing with each other. My prayers go out to Celestes' family and friends and to you Jaboom. I can't say that I know what you are going through but I will pray for your heart to heal. Hang in there brother.

This Afrochat family will miss Celeste.

Oh-my-God, Noooooooooooo! I am in tears as I type this. I was thinking about her last week and wondered if Celeste would ever return to Afro Chat. She was truly a sincere, nice, upbeat person - one who you think you would like to kick it with and get to know if you ever met offline. First, Baba, now Celeste. The Afro Chat family has lost yet another angel. My prayers go out to her family and to you Jaboom. This is soooooo sad......

I find this whole situation a bit circumspect. An elaborate hoax of some sort. I'll let some of the responses come back before I post my reasoning.
