Since I was laid off two years, three months, twenty-five days ago, I have dedicated my life to realizing World Peace. But, how does one tackle such a large task? It has turned out to be a full time job.
I study world events, analyze the behaviors of my fellow human beings and myself, immerse myself in the holy books of divergent cultures, and write.
One big accomplishment was for me to realize that I did not know enough about anything to just jump in somewhere and start slugging. I mean, think about it. Our world is full of grassroots organizations, and churches, and charities, and gurus, and politicians, and preachers, and soldiers who all claim to be working for peace. Yet, our world continues to inch closer and closer to Armegeddon.
Small victories are won on the local levels, true. And, on extremely rare occasions, Agents of Change such as a Dr. King or Gandhi will rise up and tilt the scales, temporarily, towards the Feather of Maat. But, then, that Agent of Change dies and mankind quickly rushes back to its comfort zone of hate and violence, and me, me, me.
Gandhi's India is one of only eight nuclear powers in our world. One of the most effective Agents for Change our world has ever known, yet his country now stockpiles nukes.
Dr. King's Dream is not the dream of Black America in the 21st century. Many of us do not want to live as One with white people. Many of us do not even consider whites as equals, but rather as some sort of genetic mistake.
DBlack told me once I was someone who sees fault in everyone and that is fairly accurate. I see our world. I see its innate beauty. But, mankind works against that beauty, does not add to it. I know, I sound like the author of Ecclessiates:
"And I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven: this sore travail hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith. I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. That which is crooked cannot be made straight: and that which is wanting cannot be numbered."
Indeed, there is a good argument to be made that the best way to realize World Peace is to rid the World of mankind. But, to accomplish that, I need do nothing but sit back and watch because Man is, most assuredly, racing towards self-genocide.
All that is the bad news. The good news is, in my journey, at times, I see glimpses of the Light of a Distant Star:
- Our salvation, if it is to be, lies in the fact that we are not alone in this life. There is, just as Dr. King so often said, a Force in the universe who works with those who struggle for the cause of Love.
- This Force permeates all that is, even within the worst of men, and nudges each of us toward the Light as fast or as slow as we choose to be led in that direction.
- Perhaps, this world is supposed to be a living hell. By being so, it serves as a training aid to teach man the wisdom of flowing within Divine Will, rather than shooting himself in the foot by focusing on me, me, me. Perhaps, this world is supposed to be a living hell because that is the only way hardheaded Man will learn that all he has do to stop the pain is stop banging his own head against walls of his own making.
- This World Is Not Real. It is more like the machine world of the Matrix movies than we realize. MOST of the latest ideas of Theoretical Physics are syncretic with this Orignal Truth.
- We are NOT this mortal vessel of flesh and blood. This is THE message, oft hidden in a mystery, to be found in ALL religions. We wear this physical body as we would a pair of shoes. Wearing this body does not make you mortal, it only _deceives_ you into thinking you are mortal.
- Every event that has occurred, is occurring, and will occur in your life was worked out, by Divine Will, for your benefit, long before you were ever a twinkle in your daddy's eye.
- What Mama told us as kids was right. We really can be anything we want. The key to realizing Bliss is to _KNOW_ who you are and of what you are capable. To borrow a quote from "MAAT - The 11 Laws of God":
"It is not what you think or what you affirm. It is who is thinking and affirming. Are you a human or a divine being?"
Peace, Peace, Peace.
