May I ask why anyone would view Obama as a modern day Uncle Tom ?

I asked this in an e-mail and was told it would be better to ask this in a discussion. I am now but I generalized the original question.

I have had the t.v. off for more than a year. Fortunately, in recent months, my land lord decided to go ahead and get comcast cable and just in time to catch much of the Hilary vs Obama issue.

I have not developed strong view on Obama personally whether pro or con. My concern has been a feeling that Hilary was more likely to win and Obama might drive many "liberals" to show how tolerant they really aren't. I once expressed my concern of a McCain victory if Obama was nominated with two AME Church people and one agreed with me.

I basically just want to get the Republicans out of power and am supportive of the Democrat I feel will most likely win. I have had no malice towards Obama though. However, I find it interesting that some in here do seem to have negative views of him.

I would have expected people in here to label me an "Uncle Tom" for thinking Hilary was better placed to win. Instead in the e-mail, I was even accused of being . . . . an Obama supporter. Even if I was, is that a bad thing ?

Why the hostility to Obama ?

What do people think Obama has done to deserve such commentary ?

Why would anyone view Obama as a modern day Uncle Tom ?
