In the early 1900's, these groups were routinely attacking people; not just the thousands of lynchings, but assassinations, bombings, rapings, savage beatings, & various other types of harassment.
And, for what ? What threat was their to them ? The motivations were often trivial: acting like a white man, reading a book, looking at a white woman (or as Spike Lee has said, "reckless eye-balling" ).
I had a Grand Aunt whose house (or a relatives, hazy on the house not the event) was burned down after she graduated from high school.
This is why I say don't buy the "no different from other groups" assertion. There is a video on you tube by a "Mexica Movement" (
YouTube - Five Major Flaws in Guns, Germs, and Steel - Part 1 of 5 ) that explains how the Chinese had the guns & the ships (they sailed as far as Africa before the time of Columbus) but did not proceed to rape the world. Chinese views of being the civilized did not produce this murderous savagery. Why did Europe produce it ?
