I don't defend excessive and unnecessary force by the police, but often times, I don't feel sorry for the offenders they are running down. I was in the Military Police before in the Philippines. And you would be shocked at the things that happen in the street (totally unprovoked) and the unexplicable behaviors you never see on TV or captured on video. I have many stories of when I was attempting to help and assist someone when they went psycho on me. No need to detail what happened and what the out come was.
The majority of these guys (running from the police or committing crimes) that get the beat down from the cops have records and histories of criminal offenses that looks like a roll of toilet paper. They know better but yet they have made a decision to indulge in criminal activity. They made a choice. Once again, I don't condone excessive beatings by the police, but it is not rocket science nor is it an entirely new concept that you will get your a$$ beat by the police when you run or commit crime. It's a simple as that.
