I believe that a lot of what is presented today is contrary but, I believe the government has been 'a bully' and has contributed to the confusion. And because they are the bullies, whatever they dictate to be correct is what is taught in our curriculum and put in our minds. Our ancestors voted for them to be the boss so, no wonder many of us are confused with the correct dates and times. I still think that the living God is for our benefit and He only wants what is best for us. When you say you have "never felt the presence of god", I feel you. But let me tell you, when you see history in the past when black people had a free choice on their own freedom and destiny and that they gave it up, and left us, their progeny, to contend with this kind of existence, what do you think. Could it be possible that God left us because they left him first, for the worship of the white man!?
