Statistics show that 85% of the prison population reported being hit by their parents or caregivers as children.
Statistics also show that 65% of college graduates reported not receive corporal punishment (hitting, spanking, whooping, however you want to paint it) as children.
That says a lot. When someone wants you to believe that being hit by their parents was the thing that helped them along in life, it's just that they don't realize that they simply made it out OK. They survived.
