Linux has improved with it's GIU interfaces. My instructor is like you. She is a command line guru and she lives for it. She echoes your point, "I have complete control to do what I want". The command line can be daunting and intimidating to rookies. I suggest the reader stick to GNOME and KDE Linux distros.
