....is the reason that I've not been around her for Some Time Now...
As of today,
*This Sista* is
*STILL* choking back tears over this.....
I am a co-worker of the Brutha's wife (We're *both* nurses at the same hospital), and was on-duty and the *first* to hear of the heartbraking news....
And don't you know....that even *after* he got struck down, and the officers drove him to the hospital.....he even joked about the officer driving, and said, "Blow this...he's gonna flip the car over; I'd rather walk!"
He went into surgery that night....
He didn't make it....
It especially hit
*This Sista* hard, because, you see, my then-husband (Still serving as an Officer) was the one that encouraged him to join the Department back in 1995, which he did three years later.....
There's nothing more I can say, except his Soul is in Heaven with God now,
*THAT'S* for sure!!!!
I need to *leave* and *go away* for a while...I *still* need to collect my thoughts...........
