Black Man Who Seeks a White Woman's Counsel Before Dating A Sistah

This is the story: I am interested in this guy that I met four months ago. He tells me that he likes me but that his "Home Girl" tells him that I am intelligent but a bit immature for him. I am in my mid-thirties with no kids and he is in his early forties, divorced and has three children. Despite her warning he continues to seek me out. I, eventually, found out that she is a coworker of ours. She happens to be a white woman that he slept with and now they are just friends. I am simply thrown. I thought that he was a deeply conscious black man, but now I am completely disgusted that he seeks her counsel and does not see the hidden motives in her advice.

I want nothing more to do with him.

Am I overreacting? I would appreciate any and all comments.
