This is truth, shown by the success by 'Black Wallstreet' and the origin of Atlanta. The communities were self sustaining and considered wealthy amongst the surrounding districts.

In NYC, there are large concentrations of Nubians in Brooklyn of every financial class, but for the most part, they receive little regard because their purchases are mainly made outside of their neighborhoods and in white controlled ones like Manhattan as a whole. If we actually restrict our purchases to our own districts, less money would be flowing out and more political power could be gained... but instead they must visit the high retail stores on 34th and 42nd street in the city instead of mom and pop establishments in their own area which are Nubian owned.

The economics of this could be seen and currently disastrous on all facets.
