What brought me to Africa is a tale of love, loss and love again.
I met a South African boy on a trip to Africa with my sister.
We both decided to stay for different reasons.
My BF and I were together for 6 years before he began drinking.
He began violence towards our children and eventually left
when I called police.
I had made many more friends in just 6 years in Africa than I had
the 24 in Detroit and since my siter had started a family I
decided to stay. I have no regret leaving the USA.
Its not until you have spent a few years away from the USA
that you realize just how racist and violent it really is.
I have never been so happy. I doubt I will ever return.
