We adopted him out of the foster system so it didnt cost us anything. All fees were paid for by the state. There are sooo many children waiting for a home. One of the problems I have seen is that they give bio parents to many chances to get their act together. As the children get older and exposed to more emtionally and physically damaging factors, they become less adoptable.

Queen Aminah, They say foster parenting is the way to go first. I will look into this once we reach that crossroad.

I am adopted, I moved in with my adoptive family when I was around 1, but the paper work didnt leaglize it until I was 11. I would like to adopt someday too, someday soon.
As for my experience, nothing was hidden from me. I have always known my birth mother and a few of the immediate family members, but I never knew my father though.
Both my adpotive parents died by the time I reach 13, so in a way I still ended up parentless.

Whoa Chelbe, Sorry to hear this about your adoptive parents dying. What happened to you after they past on - did you stay with family members of your adoptive parents or your biological mother/family?
