Wow! You and your husband deserve accolades for taking on such a life altering yet rewarding decision.

I thought about adoption (in the past), but have since put those thoughts on the back burner - for now. I hate the way they almost make you jump through hoops (literally) to adopt here in the states and there is so much red tape. I know these guidelines were developed with the best of intentions in mind, but I feel overall with so much "red tape" to cut through they are essentially "cutting" millions of deserving young children out of the opportunity of EVER achieving a family life. I didn't even mention how expensive it can get. I know some who only spent $3,500, but then there are stories of those that spend upwards of $15,000. I guess it depends on whether or not you choose to use a public or private adoption service.

But still though after hubby and I have had one of our own - we may still explore the possibility of adoption as there are way too many kids awaiting the chance at, well................Life. Kudos to you and your hubby for taking the steps to ensure one child has a life!
