I will comment on three things that are evident:

1. Yes, racism played a role in the prosecutions decision to charge the black man with murder. Period. I don't feel that the black guy should be charged with murder, but yes he should be charged. I have no sympathy for the robbers at all. I only sympathize with the fact that good judgement wasn't used and applied to the law as it should have been. The homeowner acted within his rights - the prosecution did not.

2. The black guys should not have broken into the man's home, nor beaten his stepson. Homeowners have every right to protect themselves, their family, and their property.

3. If they wouldn't have broken into the home "at all" then "ALL" of this could have been avoided.
