Me guess it just depends on categories. Some scientific theories could be considered the ramblings of a schizo as well.
Really if we're being reeeeaaally reductionist, any form of knowledge (because that's all religion, science, philosophy and other schools are) can be reduced to the ramblings of mad men because all knowledge is compromised in some way shape form or fashion. Why? Because none of us can perfectly KNOW anything...
So in a way all of us are working off some faith based mode of knowing or relating to our world whether we wanna admit to it or not...
Even the surest theories have an element of uncertainty. A "technically" or an "actually" that compromises our complete understanding of anything. Because of this in many ways "rational" thinking is seemingly just as crazy and unreliable in many cases as religious faith seems to be.
I guess it's all just a matter of what we think we know or can be certain of...
i.e. Grass is generally green. Actually...that's really a matter of perception of light. You see how fast certainties can fail us. So from that point of view all of us are a bit mad.
(Insert deranged laughter here...)
Good thread James.
