He played and then managed Chelsea in the late 90s which was very successful, because he helped them win the FA Cup in 1997. He also was manager at Newcastle, but only for a short while.
He won 3 league titles in Holland, and then he went to AC Milan in 1987 where he was paid 5.7m (peanuts now).
He had a very successful career in Europe because we won the World Players of the Year and European Player of the Year.
He collected 3 Italian league tiles and two European.
In his new job for LA Galaxy, it is rumoured that he will be paid 4m a year on a 3-year contact.
You know how cruel the press and football pundits can be at times; they are saying that he will not last long there. Personally I think they are jealous. They are also saying that he is know for letting people know who is boss and that with him and Beckham there, there might be fireworks, because he likes to be the centre of attention and is not going to stand for Beckham parading himself everywhere.
Also, what is being said is that LA Galaxy is probably only engaging him for the same purpose they engaged Beckham: Make their club world known. At least they have admitted that Beckham was not signed up for his footballing skills, as everyone knows, he has hardly played any football during his time at LA Galaxy.
