Exclamation To the AfroChat Crabz

This message is only to that special user; the Crab.

Let's define this group:

1. One that joins this board ONLY for the purpose of attacking a member of the community or the community itself.

This simply will not be tolerated. That doesn't mean I will delete your post or account, but I will take some form of action. For example, some board admins from cocoalounge joined up on our board for the sole purpose of attacking me, the community, and another member. While all member opinions and criticisms are welcomed, they did this in an inappropriate manner, used inappropriate language, and never returned to the board to act as normal, positive and contributing members. Even after all that, I still left their accounts active. Point is, I give everyone a chance here to make mistakes and recover from them. We all deserve the chance of self-redemption. I left the post there so people could see how Crabs behave. View the Crab posting here.
So, if you fit into this category, either change your ways, or consider another board where your style is welcomed.;)

2. One that joins the board but with no intention to post a single time.

What is a Bank without money? Cereal without milk? Ham without Burger? You feel me? The community has no value with members that don't post. It's that simple. For those who don't post, I expect you to let us know why you don't. Is there a category you would like? What can we do to change that. If there is nothing we can do, then clearly this is not a desireable place for you, and that breaks my heart. So give us a chance to make AfroChat worthy of your thoughts. OK?

That being said, I deliberately set the board up so you had to register to enjoy the board. By the fact that you went through the trouble of registering and activating your account should mean something right? So get involved, get your feet wet, the water here is really nice.:D

After all that being said, those who won't post at all will have their accounts purged from the database no earlier after 60 days. 98% of messageboard members that don't post within the first month of registration, won't EVER.

3. One that joins the board ONLY for the purpose of plugging another site. (You can plug at AfroChat all you want, but not if that's your ONLY contribution).

I want to be very clear about this item, because It's important that everyone here understands AfroChat's position on plugging, and supporting other black sites.

I understand how challenging it is for people to put alot of work into a site, and not be able to get the word out. It's challenging, and as a matter of fact, many sites fail because people just don't know you are there. Welcome To AfroChat.net! We have a Links Directory that is spidered every day by the largest internet search engines. What that means is that your site has a way of exposure to all AFrochat members, and those outside of AfroChat. We also allow you to post your plug in a designated spot in the forum. And I don't mind a creative plug in response to a normal thread as long as it's not obvious that you are doing it to plug.

The point here is, don't use our site to plug, and not want to holla at folks. That's like walking into an establishment, not even speaking, and dropping off business cards. It doesn't serve your purpose well.

A lot of other sites are anti plug, anti-black supporting. They will vehemently defend their defenseless position, and if you go to their sites, it's clear. They don't support other sites. They may mention a site casually in a thread, but there's no real attempt to expose other sites to their community. Why? Because many of them simply don't want their members to know. Just judge a tree by the fruit it bears.

There are only TWO messageboards that I know of that have comprehensive Link Directories, AfroChat, and Ebonyvoices.com.
If there's another I am missing, notify me.

What about emailing members with invites?
By default, Although I think it's more effective to use our above mentioned methods of plugging and invites, I don't have a problem with you quitely sending invites to AfroChat members. We are not insecure here. But if I receive complaints about the emails, I will investigate, and intervene as appropriate. Be advised that my members may not like the unsolicited plug, but that is their choice.

If you don't have the curteousy of even saying "Hi" to us, why should we show you what you won't give us? So, if I find a member that's a member ONLY for the purpose of plugging, your account will be deleted.
