Sis, you're preaching to the choir here. What you DECIDE is YOUR business, regardless of what others think. For when issues like this arise and generally are "no win" situations, it then becomes a "control" issue. I see this quite frequently, especially in black apologists. It is a real tragedy that so many of our black people have been brain-washed to "support" anyone and anything BUT our own! You can uplift and support anyone but your own ethnic group. And the cold reality is most other ethnic groups could give a less than a rat's arse about OUR people. No, I am no saying to slur other ethnic groups, but as black people we have failed dismally when it comes be BECOMING a cohesive group. Like I've referenced before, many of us are still arguing over what I've termed "stupid chit."
Black women do hold a historical allegiance to the black male--and if you want to embrace and support our brothers? "Do you." If you want your child(ren) to have cultural pride instilled in them? "Do that." For at the end of the day? Most people only prove continously what they really ARE--not with their mouths, but with their DEEDS. Be well.
