Just curious why would a woman want to keep a ring of somebody that it didn't work out with?
Memories & the financial value. (remember years back when Donald Trump was dating Marla Maples & she returned the ring, but kept the diamond?)
By the way, in reference to your first question, legally if it is considered a gift it does not have to be returned & engagement/wedding rings are a gift.
