I know the feeling and was just made aware (my son is but 4) that this is quite common. :(
You see the same faces at commitee/school meetings/gatherings year after year. I inadvertantly agreed to chair my son's school SPT last week then recanted as I reflected on last year's parent participation in comparison to the SPT work load. Participation is almost nil this year so I backed out, agreed that we should enlist help for individual events if not the SPT and agreed to create flyers to boost parent participation. I'm willing to be ON the commmitte and help out as much as I can, but I don't want anyy kind leadership role. I work full time and my son's new therapy schedule, WHEW, I simple do not have that kind of time on my hands. :(
