How Fast if my Computer?

I hear a lot of people describing their computer in very subject ways. They’ll say “My computer is blazing fast”, or “I have the slowest computer in the universe”, or “It just feels sluggish when I use programs”.
Did you know that there is a category of applications that will actually test the performance of key components of your computer? The are called Benchmarking Software/Applications.
What are the Key Performance components of my computer?
  • ·Processor
  • ·RAM – Memory
  • ·Hard Drive
  • ·Network
  • ·Multimedia
  • ·VideoCard
My favorite benchmarking application is from SiSoftware. You can grab it here. It’s very simple to use and you can run tests on multiple components and save your results. It also compares your systems to similar components that are generally faster and slower so you can graphically see where your system is in comparison to others.
You can download the free version here.
