You know, that Jehovah Witness sister, with Ned the Wino as a husband, even Redd Fox included the Aunt Esta skit about this syndrome.
Or the young college educated sister who feels only thugs are Mr. right so she works while he stays home and plays video games.
It's in every hood in every major city.

We fail to realize most of us here and even in the Motherland, that we have adopted a grafted culture, that has to be recreated each week according to the whims of the overseer.
That is why folks who maintain and embrace collectivly a culture with the hope of thier chidrens future as the main focus,, find success,
and the women feel secure, and free from the fear of poverty and abandonment, This collective dtermination is seen in the orthodox and hassidic Jews and the Nation of Islam.
I am not proselitizing orthodoxy, but we must look at the factors that make any individual act in a way that sacrifices thier greater good,
