America: Freedom to Fascism - Director's Authorized Version

In my college days, I was dumb enough to pledge for a black frat for about a week. The day I dropped off the line, we pledges were at the frat house, being ordered to do the sort of idiotic stunts frats get their pledges to do. At one point, I happened to be standing in front of a large wall length mirror. Big Brother I-forget-his name ordered me to start wrestling with one of the other pledges. Instead, I looked in the mirror, asked myself what the hell I was doing, dropped my pledge book at Big Brother whoever's feet, walked out, and never looked back. That was a strange scene, cause there were only about 20 blacks total on the whole campus (only one sista). That year ended up being the first year all the blacks on campus did not pledge Phi Eta Psi.

I can understand how a young immature brother, leaving home for the first time, can end up aligned with a black frat. But, you are 100% correct. Black and Greek is an oxymoron. Still, I am not quite ready to equate Boule with sellout. It is just not conceivable to me that Dubois, Dr. King, and the now deceased Dr. Asa Hilliard could have been sellouts and/or naive enough to belong to a organization dedicated to maintaining White Supremacy. I am more inclined to believe that they were like me, away from home, and needing the comradeship of other blacks. My opinion -- Cokely is unfairly blaming the entire Sigma Pi Phi organies of a few of its members.
Europeans and their allies use this same type argument when pressed to pay Reparations to Black ex enslaved descendants. "I wasn't there, My people had no slaves," when in reality they've all benefited from the free labor and billions of dollars gained since those days. Allow me to remind u that individuals, small groups are statistically insignificant re social matters.

No argument from me re your opinion. I credit brutha Steve Cokely with the guts to make any statement to bust out the remnants of a Talented Tenth. W.E.B. DuBois' expressed intent was to raise leaders of the ignorant Black folk, who were being courted by such as Booker T. Washington and most of all Marcus Mosiah Garvey. The provided list of Boule, is enough to show that he specified who was/is Boule. IMO to not agree with what he basically asserts is to still believe that too many Black folk still manifest a silent form of intra-group Apartheid. In his essay racism, colorism & power from the book negroes and other essays Mwalimu Baruti ask four, among many, poignant questions:

"Why do the teacher's pets of today have the same complexion and features as they did 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 years ago? {baba note: remember he taught college & university level classes} Even after the "Say It Loud I'm Black and I'm Proud" 1960s it is still a constant. Why do the sisters we tend to consider the 'finest' and the 'phatest' today have the same complexion and features as they did 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 years ago? Why do Afrikans still prefer to live in predominantly European communities? And, why do Afrikan Catholic congregations still prefer more than any other denomination to have a European preaching from their pulpits?"

Its no military secret that for thousands of years europeans have used first a mulatto "class" of Afrikan descendants as a buffer btween us and them. The Boule, Talented Tenth and "Greek" modeled soros and fraternities are simply extensions that follow Plato's quantified and qualitated hierarchy society. Ph.D's/european at the top the illiterate/Black kwk on the bottom.

But back to the money thang.... some relevant info is b n highlighted by you.
