Yes, I believe that black and white children are raised differently, but there are times when it makes me wonder how long it'll last.
A good number of black children have been raised on a switch or strap of leather, whereas white children are allowed to argue their point and seek to exercise all kinds of 'rights,' in a parent's attempt to not dominate or negate their feelings. I believe in hearing a child out too and allowing them CERTAIN rights, but yelling at me, slamming doors, 'cussin' at me and all that? Not today.
That "time out" and "cool down moment" mess is a copout for some parents who are two tired to go the distance with their children, who have become out of control. If they were to hang with it a time or two and get so krunk that they scare themselves...
Some black children are testing the waters though. I know black children who talk all kinds of madness to their parents and I just shake my head because I know that there'd be some serious assault and battery going on, if it were me. Anymore, people have become afraid to discipline their child(ren). The thought of having them call CPS or otherwise misconstrue their punishment, is the deciding factor with that.
On the other hand, I've seen some white people tear their children up! The funny thing is that when they snatched 'em up and started working 'em, the first thing out of my mouth was, "He's/She's been around some black people." I don't mean that they popped their hands or legs either, they straight up wore that butt out.
I guess it would be safe to say that the way that black children have been raised has been a contributing factor in their not shooting up any schools, but if they could use the same restraint in other areas (that are destroying our community), that would be the prize.
